Abstract
Overcoming the problem of energy availability in areas with limited sunlight with the use of solar panels as a renewable energy source has become a major focus. Discuss the design and application of an automatic cut-off charger on the battery (battery) of an automatic trash can that uses solar panels as a source of battery charging (battery), with this charger design it is hoped that automatic trash cans can get electricity reserves by utilizing this battery charger (battery) when sunlight is absent or less than optimal, this research is descriptive qualitative research and uses data processing with data reduction, literature study and processing with software. Battery charger (battery) automatic cut-off works using Operational Amplifier (Op-Amp) model IC TL071 as a voltage sensor that controls the current input to the transistor when the non-inverting input is greater than the inverting input with a reference of 5, 1 Volt at the input of the inverting integrated circuit IC TL071 then the output of IC TL071 will be directly high approaching the positive line voltage (VCC), thus the transistor gets the Voltage Basis Emitter (VBE) current and provides current to the relay through the emitter leg to the relay coil so that the relay gets voltage and the relay moves from Normally Close (NC) to Normally Open (NO) condition.
